Meeting Tomorrow, 10/25

Tomorrow's meeting will be for all members, new and existing, at 7: 00 am in room 206. Attendance is mandatory! We will be going over topics for our first issue, as well as discussing our club rules/regulations, as well as a contract that you must sign to participate in the school newspaper.

End of the Year Dinner

Just a reminder that our Devil's Advocate End-of-the-Year Dinner is TOMORROW, Monday, June 14, 7PM at the Sterling Diner (1079 Valley Road). If you haven't already, be sure to tell Mrs. Kupiec you are coming. We hope to see all of you there and we appreciate all the hard work you have put into this year's successes.

5/3 -Full staff meeting to assign topics.
5/14 -ALL rough drafts due to section editors via email
5/14, 5/17, 5/18 -Sectional Meetings with editors. Please see schedule below.
5/19 -Final drafts due to section editors from staff writers
5/24 -All articles due to copy editors from section editors
5/29 -All articles due to Mrs. Kupiec and Layout from copy editors
June: Last issue of the school year is released!

Attached is the Article Topic List for the June Issue. Please check this for accuracy and feel free to sign up for available articles if inclined; however, we are NOT accepting anymore articles for the opinions section -please do not ask to write an opinions piece if you have not been assigned one already.

Also, we are seeking a new editorial board for the 2010-2011 school year. If you are interested, please complete an Editor Application and submit it to Mrs. Kupiec no later than May 14.

IMPORTANT MEETING DATES

Hey everyone, we are getting started on working on our last issue of the school year! Please mark down the following dates that are applicable to you:

Friday, April 23, 7AM: Editors' Meeting. This meeting is MANDATORY for all editors! This includes layout, art, and business editors/managers. Please be on time and ready! Editors only please!

Monday, May 3, 7AM: Full Staff Meeting. This meeting is MANDATORY for everyone, staff and editors alike. We will be assigning article topics for the last issue of the year among other things. There is only one meeting (at 7AM) so please be on time!

Also, we will be needing a couple volunteers for the 8th Grade Activities Night on May 3rd. If you are willing to help, contact Mrs. Kupiec.

Fundraising Meeting, Wednesday Feb. 17

Saniya, our business manager, will be hosting a meeting to plan out a couple of fundraisers to help raise money for the newspaper. We will be planning:
-Selling breakfast in the lobby before school on Fri., Feb. 19
-Designing and selling t-shirts
-Any other fundraising ideas you might have!

The meeting will be on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7AM in Rm. 214. See you there!

Issue 4 Article List

Enclosed is the issue 4 brainstorm with the selection of topics you have for each section. Remember that you are also encouraged to come up with your own topics.

Please wait until tomorrow's full staff meeting to tell us your article topic. Do NOT email us or comment about the article list until tomorrow's meeting. We just posted the list so that you can think about what you want to do in advance, and to minimize the time that we spend on article sign ups.
